Best Kept Village 2011
After a ten year break, we decided to re-enter the Best Kept Village Competition in the Scattered Rural Community category.
The committee would like to thank Speyside Cooperage who very kindly donated tubs and half barrels to assist us with our
entry. The Judge felt that these “made an immediate statement, affording colour to the surrounds”.

2011 Scattered Village entry
The community received a Highly Commended in the Scattered Village section of this competition.
A remarkable achievement given the weather this summer.
We would like to thank everybody who helped us plant out and
maintain the flowers both at the Hall and throughout the community. The Judge noted that “this had given continuity and spots of
colour on the rural routes” and also commented on gardens being “well tended, growing the full spectrum of general plants”.
Junior Section
ECHC are thrilled to announce that the Edinvillie Juniors,
who have never submitted an entry in this competition
before, received a Highly Commended for their floral
displays and were only three points behind the winners.
The Judge commented that it was “A very good effort
by the junior entry, that the selection of plant material
was good and well placed to give visual impact”.
Congratulations Juniors!
