Flooding in Moray
click to open a larger image
Moray was hit by devastating flooding in early September
after the equivalent of a month’s rainfall fell within the space
of 24 hours.
Many households were forced to abandon their homes as the floodwater
rose, some have been able to return but currently there are over 100
families whose houses remain uninhabitable following the floods which
affected Elgin, Fochabers, Rothes and a number of other Moray
communities.
The Moray Flood Relief Fund, chaired by the Lord Lieutenant Lt-Col Grenville Johnston,
has been launched to assist, where appropriate, in relieving the personal distress of the victims and their dependents.
It is hoped that the Fund will raise in excess of £150,000, every pound donated will go directly to those affected,
and donations can be made at a number of outlets across Moray, online or sent to:-
Lt-Col G Johnston
c/o Chief Executive’s Office,
The Moray Council,
Council Offices,

You can donate direct to the Moray Flood Relief Fund through the Moray Council website by clicking
